Current role

I am currently a Year 6 Class Teacher alongside being the RE Subject Leader for The Federation of St. Elphege’s and Regina Coeli Catholic Schools. Although I am class based, I split my time across both schools offering support in Teaching and Learning, Assessment and Collective Worship for teachers in all year groups. Support is identified through a robust Monitoring and Evaluation programme.

Through Monitoring and Evaluation, I am able to pin-point areas of strength and areas that need developing. I ensure I am up-to-date with diocesan training (Southwark) and incorporate this into my INSET, CPD, one-to-one and NQT support.
Summary of previous experience

I began my teaching career in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5) and am currently in my third year of teaching Year 6. In October 2014, I successfully interviewed for the position of Religious Education (RE) coordinator. Since this time I have strived to ensure excellence throughout the school with regard to RE – I have been able to continue promoting the Catholicity of the school and Federation through learning, relationships and worship. I work tirelessly to foster a community founded in faith and spirituality with links to the parish and diocese.

Throughout my time as a Year 6 practitioner, I have prepared children for the SATs and designed and implemented interventions for children of all abilities to ensure the pupils make rapid and sustained progress. I believe it vital that children enjoy learning to gain the best results and I endeavour to make my lessons as engaging as possible. I have been observed in many areas of the curriculum for Monitoring and Evaluation purposes by the Federation’s Senior Leadership Team and outside schools and agencies as part of the Emmaus Teaching School. Of these observations, 100% are graded ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ with 89% graded ‘outstanding’.

Most recently, I (alongside the Senior Leadership Team) led St. Elphege’s Junior School through a Section 48 Ofsted Inspection where the school was graded ‘outstanding in all areas’.
