September 2018 intake

We have 12 places for School Direct on offer as the lead school in partnership with the University of Roehampton for 2018-2019. Successful candidates will be placed in one of the academies or schools within our partnership. Places are for the tuition fee (non-salaried) route. Trainees will be required to pay tuition fees of £9,250 to University of Roehampton but will receive a bursary of £2,000 from the lead school (to be received in January 2019).

As for 2017-2018, we will be offering the Alliance Route for training, which involves some training sessions held at Avenue Primary Academy or one of our partner schools. School Direct provides trainees with the opportunity to be based in a specific class at a host school working in partnership with the class teacher, with weekly training sessions being held at the university or lead school. Trainees will specialise in either the 3-7 age range or the 5-11 age range and will be placed in a second school for their first Block School Experience, in a consecutive age range/phase to their host school.

Have you ever considered a career in teaching? Would you like to find out more about teacher training and what a career in teaching has to offer? Emmaus Teaching School Alliance and Sutton Primary Teaching School Alliance will be hosting these two Train to Teach recruitment events.

These events will offer the opportunity to explore the different routes into teaching and to discuss the School Direct programme on offer through both teaching school alliances. You can also receive one to one advice from school ITT leaders and current School Direct trainees.
If you would like to attend either of these events, please contact Michelle McAree avenue@spts.org.uk

This is a drop in event.
